The CORE exists due to the efforts and support of its peer members and volunteers. Whether you are already a CORE peer member, are planning to become one, or are a community member wanting to help out, the CORE is always looking for volunteers. If you have a skill or talent that you would like to share with others, or if you just want to lend a hand at the center or at events, we would love to hear from you. If you are interested, please contact Sabrina at sabrinam@corerecovery.org for more information on volunteering at the CORE.
Whether you can help out 2 hours a week, 2 hours a day, work a single event, or more, there is always plenty of help needed at the CORE. No experience necessary, just a willingness to roll up your sleeves. Here are just a few areas where you can be of service to your fellow members.
Be the first smiling and welcoming face that someone sees when they walk into the CORE. You can provide information, answer the phone, and direct visitors to other staff members to find out more about what's happening at the CORE.
There's always something cookin' at the CORE. Whether it's regular Thursday night dinner or special events, we always need help with meal prep and of course, cleanup.
Many hands help lighten the load for event planning, setup, and breakdown/cleanup. Check the calendar for what's coming up. Help is always welcomed.
Want to help spread the word about the CORE? We always need extra people to reach out and expand the network of people who could benefit from the CORE. Whether it's helping to place fliers at locations or manning a resource table at special events, attending other meetings, you can help others find the their way to CORE.
If you want to start a meeting, an interest group, or have a talent that you want to share and teach others, the CORE wants to hear from you. Don't be shy! CORE staff will help bring your idea to life. We just need YOU!
Do you have an expertise, a talent, an area of interest, or skill you'd like to share with others? You don't have to be a CORE member to help. We have outside volunteers that have provided housing assistance consulting, yoga instruction, guided meditation, art classes and more. Maybe you could teach a class in a Microsoft Office software product like Word or help with resume writing. It all starts with an idea. If you are interested in helping, just let us know. We'd love to talk to you more.
We aren't just members of the CORE recovery community, we are also members of the Cape Ann community. Here are some opportunities to help out your neighbors in our own backyard and beyond.
Consider volunteering through our partners that are doing great work to help and support our Cape Ann family. Organizations like The Open Door are always in need of volunteers. To find out more about volunteer opportunities at The Open Door, click here:
